Find out where to buy a gift card for any Amazon shop in the world. And more: how to use it, check your gift card balance, and make sure it doesn’t expire.
An Amazon gift card is great to give and receive. However, if it’s your first time, you may have some questions about using it. Here’s a quick guide to all you need to know about your card.
Can you use your Amazon gift card internationally?
Unfortunately not. This means that if you buy an Amazon UK voucher, you can only spend it on Amazon.co.uk. This isn’t a problem if you’re based in the UK yourself. However, if you want to make a gift to someone elsewhere, it’s more practical to buy them an Amazon gift card for their local Amazon shop – e.g. you can easily buy Amazon.es, Amazon.de, Amazon.com, or Amazon.fr gift cards online.
How to redeem your gift card
-
Log in to your account.
-
Click on ‘Account & Lists’ at the top of the page, and then select ‘Your Account’.
-
Click on ‘Gift Cards’ and choose ‘Redeem a Gift Card’.
-
Enter your gift card code, and click on ‘Apply to your balance’.
Can I use my card to pay for Prime?
Unfortunately, not in Europe. In the United States, it’s possible by gifting yourself a Prime gift card and paying for it with your Amazon gift card balance. In case you already have a Prime membership, you’d have to stop your auto-renew, wait for your membership to expire, and then restart it again by using your gift card balance. When and if this option will be available on other Amazon shops worldwide, remains unclear.
How to send an Amazon gift card
If you’re ready to make someone happy with access to great Flash sales, Prime offers, or a Prime subscription (for the US), start by selecting the relevant Amazon gift card for them from Recharge.com.
